Project Overview

The Aligned Hillsboro Campus, comprising the PDX-01 and PDX-02 data centers, is a master-planned, high-density hyperscale data center campus operated by Aligned Data Centers at NE 30th Ave and NE Evergreen Road in Hillsboro, Oregon, USA. Spanning approximately 27 acres within the region’s established “Silicon Forest” technology corridor, the campus is designed to provide more than 108 MW of critical IT capacity across two advanced data center facilities. Its strategic location places the campus within one of the Pacific Northwest’s largest concentrations of digital infrastructure, providing access to extensive fiber networks, telecommunications infrastructure, cloud platforms, and major technology markets across the Western United States. The campus is engineered to support high-density computing environments and demanding workloads, including artificial intelligence acceleration, GPU clusters, high-performance computing, hyperscale cloud deployments, and enterprise applications. Aligned’s proprietary Delta Cube™ air-cooling technology and waterless cooling systems are incorporated to support increasing rack densities while improving thermal management and reducing dependence on conventional water-intensive cooling infrastructure. The campus also benefits from Oregon’s renewable energy resources, with electricity supplied through Portland General Electric and the region’s significant hydroelectric generation base. A notable component of the development is its on-site 31 MW / 62 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), developed in partnership with Calibrant Energy. The energy storage installation is designed to help manage peak electricity demand, improve operational flexibility, and support faster deployment of additional computing capacity. By combining large-scale IT capacity, advanced cooling technologies, renewable electricity access, and integrated energy storage, the Aligned Hillsboro Campus is positioned to serve the rapidly growing requirements of AI and cloud infrastructure. Its development further strengthens Hillsboro’s position as a major hyperscale data center destination and an important digital infrastructure hub for the Pacific Northwest.
