AWS SAT 7400 Potranco Data Center: Hyperscale Cloud Hub in San Antonio

Status: Fully Operational Hub   |   Location: 7400 Potranco Rd Building A 78251 San Antonio Texas, USA

Project Overview

Amazon AWS SAT - 7400 Potranco is a purpose-built 12 MW hyperscale data center facility strategically located along Potranco Road in San Antonio, Texas, serving as a key component of Amazon Web Services' expanding cloud infrastructure in the South Central United States. Encompassing approximately 109,600 square feet of technical space, the facility has been engineered to support a broad range of mission-critical cloud services, including elastic compute, storage, database platforms, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, analytics, enterprise applications, and public sector workloads. Designed with high-density power delivery and scalable infrastructure, the data center enables AWS to accommodate the growing demands of modern cloud-native applications and GPU-intensive computing environments. As part of AWS's highly resilient global cloud architecture, the facility provides secure, low-latency connectivity to regional AWS infrastructure and interconnection pathways supporting customers across North America, while integrating with high-capacity fiber networks and cloud connectivity services for seamless enterprise access. The campus incorporates advanced energy-efficient cooling technologies, including a combination of evaporative and dry cooling systems, optimizing thermal performance while reducing water and energy consumption under varying climatic conditions. In alignment with Amazon's long-term sustainability strategy, the facility operates under AWS's commitment to power its global operations with 100% renewable energy through renewable electricity procurement and long-term clean energy investments. The data center is further supported by resilient utility infrastructure, redundant electrical distribution systems, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, backup generators, and comprehensive environmental monitoring to ensure continuous service availability for mission-critical operations. Combined with enterprise-grade physical security, multiple network connectivity options, and 24/7 operational management, Amazon AWS SAT - 7400 Potranco delivers a secure, scalable, energy-efficient, and future-ready digital infrastructure platform that supports the continued growth of AWS cloud services, enterprise digital transformation, and AI-driven innovation across the South Central United States.
