The project is purpose-built to support the rapidly growing demand for large-scale AI computing, advanced machine learning, and high-performance computational workloads. Under the development model, Lancium owns the site, manages the grid interconnection, and coordinates the supporting energy infrastructure, while Crusoe is responsible for designing, constructing, and operating the AI data center campus. The facility is planned to accommodate hundreds of thousands of high-density AI accelerators for a leading hyperscale customer, requiring substantial power delivery and advanced thermal management capabilities. To support these demanding workloads, the campus incorporates behind-the-meter solar generation and battery energy storage, providing additional flexibility and resilience for its power requirements. The infrastructure also features closed-loop, non-evaporative liquid cooling technology, designed to efficiently manage the significant heat produced by dense AI computing equipment while reducing dependence on water-intensive cooling systems. With its large power capacity, dedicated energy infrastructure, advanced cooling architecture, and scalable campus design, the Childress AI Data Center Campus represents the shift toward purpose-built facilities optimized for next-generation AI workloads.
