CloudHQ Querétaro Data Center Campus

Status: Announced / Active Development (Master Plan Confirmed)   |   Location: Querétaro, Mexico (Near Querétaro Airport)

Project Overview

The CloudHQ Querétaro Data Center Campus represents one of the single largest private technology investments in Mexico's history, totalling US$4.8 billion for a massive 900 Megawatt (MW) critical IT load. This six-building campus, confirmed by the Federal Government, is essential to Mexico's growing role as a strategic digital pillar for both Latin American demand and North American redundancy (nearshoring).

The project is driven by the extreme demands of cloud computing and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Its sheer scale requires extensive power infrastructure, which CloudHQ is addressing by building a dedicated 2 Gigawatt (GW) manoeuvring substation in collaboration with the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) to secure its power supply.

Crucially, the campus incorporates innovative waterless cooling infrastructure. Given that Querétaro is a water-stressed region, this design choice is vital for gaining local community support and ensuring long-term operational sustainability, setting a new environmental benchmark for massive deployments in arid regions.

With construction expected to be completed by 2027, the CloudHQ campus will consolidate Querétaro's position as the primary hyperscale hub in Mexico, attracting further investment and accelerating the country's digital transformation across manufacturing, finance, and other sectors benefiting from AI and low-latency cloud access.
