Status: Operational / Active Hyperscale & Wholesale Colocation Campus | Location: 19701 Clark Graham Avenue, Baie-d'Urfé, QC H9X 3T1, Canada
Compass Montreal II, originally developed as ROOT Data Center MTL-R2, is a wholesale hyperscale and enterprise colocation campus spanning 175,000 sq ft on a 384,000 sq ft site at 19701 Clark Graham Avenue in Baie-d'Urfé, Quebec. Acquired by Compass Datacenters in July 2019, the facility provides up to 30 MW of power capacity, with the potential to scale to 50 MW to accommodate growing customer requirements across the Montreal technology corridor. Its high-density server infrastructure supports configurations of up to 40 kW per cabinet, enabling deployments for enterprise IT, cloud computing, and other power-intensive digital infrastructure workloads. The facility is powered by 100% clean hydroelectric electricity supplied by Hydro-Québec, supporting the region’s low-carbon data center environment and the sustainability objectives of customers operating within the campus. Cooling infrastructure incorporates KyotoCooling indirect air-to-air heat exchange technology, designed to improve operational energy efficiency by using outdoor air conditions to support heat rejection and reduce reliance on conventional mechanical cooling. The campus’s wholesale colocation model provides space and infrastructure for large-scale deployments, while its enterprise capabilities support organizations requiring secure and scalable data center environments. Located in Baie-d'Urfé, within Montreal’s western technology corridor, Compass Montreal II benefits from the area’s established digital infrastructure ecosystem and access to Quebec’s renewable power resources. Its substantial power capacity, high-density cabinet support, and energy-efficient cooling architecture position the facility as a significant component of Compass Datacenters’ Montreal portfolio. Through its scalable design and integration into the region’s data center market, Compass Montreal II supports the continued expansion of hyperscale, cloud, and enterprise computing infrastructure in Quebec.
