Project Overview

The Digital Edge SEL5 Data Center is a major next-generation digital infrastructure asset officially announced on June 8, 2026, in Ansan, South Korea. Located inside the government-designated Sihwa National Industrial Complex, this greenfield facility is engineered explicitly to address the severe space and power constraints impacting the primary Seoul metropolitan data center ecosystem. Advancing directly into early civil design work, site layout engineering, and substation connection frameworks in mid-2026, the project centers on a newly acquired 16,592-square-meter land parcel. SEL5 stands out in a supply-constrained market by securing a massive 90 MVA utility power agreement early in its development cycle. The data center is purpose-built to handle the intense processing configurations and extreme rack densities associated with large language model training and real-time AI inference. Situated roughly 40 kilometers southwest of central Seoul, the facility gives international hyperscalers and cloud service providers scalable data blocks combined with ultra-low latency metropolitan interconnectivity.
