Project Overview
Digital Realty’s MAD4 is a flagship hyperscale data center strategically located in Madrid’s San Blas-Canillejas technology district, widely recognised as "Silicon Alley Madrid." Spanning approximately 35,000 m² (380,000 sq ft), the facility delivers up to 34 MW of critical IT capacity, making it the largest and most advanced data center within Digital Realty’s Madrid metro campus. Purpose-built to support hyperscale cloud providers, enterprises, AI workloads, and high-performance computing (HPC), MAD4 offers highly scalable, energy-efficient infrastructure designed for mission-critical digital operations. The facility is interconnected through a resilient campus dark-fiber ring with the nearby MAD1, MAD2, and MAD3 data centers, enabling ultra-low-latency connectivity and seamless workload distribution across the Madrid campus. Serving as a strategic digital gateway between Southern Europe, Latin America, and North Africa, MAD4 provides carrier-neutral access to a rich ecosystem of telecommunications providers, internet service providers, cloud platforms, and enterprise networks. Customers benefit from direct connectivity to major internet exchanges, including ES-PANIX and DE-CIX Madrid, enabling high-performance interconnection and low-latency data exchange. The facility is engineered with a fully redundant 2N electrical architecture, advanced cooling systems, and comprehensive physical security measures to ensure maximum uptime and operational resilience. Powered entirely through 100% renewable energy procurement, MAD4 also supports customers' sustainability objectives while delivering reliable, secure, and future-ready infrastructure.
