Equinix DA12 Dallas Data Center - 372,517 SQ FT Facility
Status: Under Construction (Groundbreaking) | Location: Dallas
Project Overview
The Equinix DA12 project represents a massive expansion of digital infrastructure in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, one of the world’s most interconnected data center hubs. Located at 1550 W. Mockingbird Lane in Western Dallas, this four-story facility is designed to meet the skyrocketing demand for AI-ready infrastructure and hybrid cloud deployments. As of February 2026, the project has officially entered its construction phase, signaled by a massive $835 million total investment filing.
The facility spans over 372,000 square feet, making it one of the largest single-site builds in Equinix's Texas portfolio. The architecture is specifically engineered to handle the high-density cooling requirements associated with modern Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) workloads. By positioning DA12 in Dallas, Equinix leverages the city’s central geographic location in the United States, providing a low-latency gateway that connects the East and West coasts.
Sustainability is a core pillar of the DA12 build. Following Equinix’s global commitment, the site is designed to operate on 100% renewable energy and aims for a high-efficiency Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) rating. The project is split into two primary financial phases: an initial $542 million for the core shell and structural development, followed by $293 million dedicated to the high-tech interior fit-outs, including advanced power distribution and modular cooling systems. Once operational, DA12 will serve as a critical interconnection point for global enterprises, cloud service providers, and content delivery networks.
