Project Overview
Equinix HK5 Data Center, located at Tower 2, No. 299 Wan Po Road in the Tseung Kwan O area of Hong Kong, is a purpose-built International Business Exchange™ (IBX®) facility serving financial, enterprise, cloud, network, and digital infrastructure customers across the region. Equinix currently lists 66,500 sq ft (6,178 m²) of colocation space for HK5, while the facility occupies a 10-storey purpose-built reinforced-concrete building. The data center provides resilient infrastructure with 2N power redundancy and N+1 cooling redundancy, including 2N UPS systems and standby power designed to support the dual power architecture. Equinix specifies a minimum cabinet density of 4 kVA, 220V/380V power distribution, and generator autonomy of 12 hours at design full-load conditions. The facility has a raised-floor load capacity of 232 psf and slab capacity of 251 psf, while fire protection includes a double-interlock pre-action system with aspirated HSSD/VESDA and non-aspirated detection. US English HK5 provides interconnection services including Equinix Internet Exchange, Equinix Internet Access, Cross Connects, Equinix Fabric, and Network Edge, enabling customers to establish connections with networks, cloud services, enterprises, and other digital partners. Equinix positions its Hong Kong IBX facilities as important business hubs for international finance, trade, network, cloud, and digital services, with HK5 benefiting from its location within the Tseung Kwan O data center cluster. The facility also supports sustainability initiatives including high-efficiency UPS systems, LED lighting, efficient humidity control, and hot- and cold-aisle containment. Equinix reports 100% renewable-energy coverage for HK5 through wind and solar energy certificates, while the facility holds certifications including ISO 14001, ISO 22301, ISO 27001, ISO 50001, ISO 9001, LEED, PCI DSS, SOC 1 Type II, SOC 2 Type II, and TVRA.
