Hscale MXP2 Hyperscale Milan Campus

Status: Under Construction / Development   |   Location: Milan Industrial District, Italy

Project Overview

The Hscale MXP2 Hyperscale Campus represents a massive €2 billion ($2.3 billion USD) digital infrastructure deployment in Italy, marking a significant expansion of southern Europe's high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence corridor. Located in the industrial outskirts of Milan, this specialized three-building development is specifically engineered to address the acute shortage of AI-ready, high-density colocation space within the primary Italian and Mediterranean enterprise markets.  The architectural framework of the MXP2 campus is custom-built to support the heavy physical and structural loads required by modern graphics processing unit (GPU) clusters. To mitigate the significant heat dissipation from these workloads without drawing heavily on local municipal water sources, Hscale has designed the facilities around an advanced closed-loop system that combines automated direct-to-chip liquid cooling manifolds with localized, high-efficiency air cooling loops. This technical setup enables the massive facility to operate at an ultra-efficient Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) target of 1.16, setting a benchmark for green, large-scale deployments in Southern Europe.
