Hut 8 River Bend Data Center Campus, located in West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, USA, is a large-scale AI infrastructure development designed to support next-generation artificial intelligence and high-performance computing workloads. Developed by Hut 8 under its power-first approach to digital infrastructure, the campus covers approximately 2,361 acres under option, with 330 MW of utility capacity currently supporting 245 MW of commercialized IT capacity and potential expansion beyond 1 GW of utility capacity. The project is backed by a long-term 245 MW IT capacity lease with Fluidstack, with Google providing a financial backstop for the base lease term. Hut 8 has also secured $3.25 billion in investment-grade project financing to fund the River Bend development. The first data hall is scheduled for completion and commissioning in Q2 2027, with additional data halls expected to come online through 2027. River Bend is being developed with participation from Anthropic, Fluidstack, Entergy, Vertiv, Jacobs, and Louisiana state and local economic development organizations. The campus is expected to represent up to $10 billion in Phase 1 capital investment, while construction is expected to create approximately 1,000 temporary jobs. Once operational, the project is expected to support more than 75 permanent data center operations positions, along with additional direct and induced employment. Its large power allocation, phased construction model, and AI-focused infrastructure are intended to provide a scalable platform for high-density computing deployments. River Bend is also part of Hut 8's broader strategy to develop utility-scale AI campuses by securing land and power before commercializing capacity with long-term customers. hut8.com
