Project Summary

Oni Datacenter Lisbon Matinha 1MW Colocation Facility

Status: Operational / Strategic Enterprise & Carrier Node   |   Location: Rua 3 da Matinha A, EdifΓcio Altejo, 1950-326 Lisbon, Portugal

Project Overview

The Oni Datacenter Lisbon, also known as the ONI Colocation Center Matinha, is an enterprise-focused colocation, internet exchange, and cloud data center operated by Onitelecom, part of the Gigas Group. Located at Rua 3 da Matinha A, within the Edifício Altejo in Lisbon’s Marvila and Matinha industrial waterfront district, the facility serves as an important network hosting and connectivity node for enterprise customers, telecommunications carriers, cloud platforms, and digital service providers. The data center provides approximately 2,000 square meters of gross floor area and has capacity for more than 500 standard server racks, supporting a range of IT, networking, cloud, and telecommunications deployments. With approximately 1.0 MW of total IT load capacity, the facility is designed to accommodate mission-critical workloads while providing scalable colocation infrastructure for customers requiring reliable connectivity within the Lisbon metropolitan area. Built to Tier III standards, Oni Datacenter Lisbon incorporates resilient infrastructure designed to support high availability and continuity of operations. Its electrical architecture uses a 2xN redundant power configuration, while N+1 precision cooling with cold-aisle containment helps maintain appropriate operating conditions for server and networking equipment while improving thermal efficiency. ISO-certified operational processes further support structured facility management and security requirements. The center also provides carrier-neutral cross-connectivity, enabling customers to establish connections with multiple network operators and service providers rather than relying on a single telecommunications carrier. Its integration with ONI’s national fiber network and access to international subsea cable landing infrastructure strengthens the facility’s role as a gateway between Portuguese networks and global digital routes. Combining substantial rack capacity, resilient power and cooling systems, carrier-neutral connectivity, and a strategic waterfront location, Oni Datacenter Lisbon represents an important component of Lisbon’s enterprise colocation and telecommunications infrastructure ecosystem.
