Vantage BER1: 56MW AI-Ready Brandenburg Campus
Status: Operational / Active Phase 2 & 3 Expansion (April 2026) | Location: 25-Acre Campus within Brandenburg Park
Project Overview
As of April 2026, BER1 stands as the flagship facility within Vantage Data Centers’ German portfolio, reaching its full 56-megawatt master plan capacity and reinforcing the company’s strategic position in one of Europe’s most important digital markets. Located in the Berlin-Brandenburg region, the campus has become a cornerstone for hyperscale and enterprise customers seeking resilient, low-latency infrastructure in Germany’s capital corridor. Technically, BER1 was originally engineered to support an average density of 3.23 kilowatts per square meter, equivalent to 300 watts per square foot, allowing it to efficiently host a broad range of cloud, colocation, and enterprise workloads. However, in response to rapidly rising demand for artificial intelligence computing, recent Phase 3 expansions have been retrofitted with advanced high-density liquid-to-chip cooling systems designed to handle modern GPU clusters and next-generation accelerated computing environments. This upgrade positions BER1 to compete for some of the most demanding AI deployments in Europe. Power resilience remains a defining strength of the campus. BER1 features an onsite substation supported by E.DIS Group, providing strong utility integration and ensuring N plus 1 redundancy across all critical electrical systems. This architecture enables continuous operations and high availability for mission-critical tenants that require uninterrupted uptime. Connectivity is another major advantage. Situated only 20 kilometers from the nearby Berlin II campus, known as BER2, BER1 serves as a critical anchor for regional interconnection and digital traffic flows.
