Hallador Energy Company is a U.S. independent power producer and energy company with major operations in Indiana. Its Hallador Power subsidiary owns the 1,080 MW Merom Generating Station in Sullivan County, providing dispatchable electricity through the MISO grid. The company is increasingly targeting rising electricity demand from data centers and industrial customers. In 2025, Hallador Power signed an exclusive commitment agreement with a global data center developer concerning energy and capacity for a potential Indiana data center development. Hallador is also developing the approximately 460 MW Turtle Creek Gas project at its Merom site, leveraging existing generation and transmission infrastructure to support future high demand customers.
