Slate Island Developments Ltd.

Slate Island Developments Ltd is a Scottish property development company involved in the redevelopment of the former IBM site at Spango Valley, Greenock. The company is pursuing planning permission in principle for a major data center campus comprising approximately 80,000 square metres of floorspace across four indicative buildings. The development is intended to bring digital infrastructure back to a site with a long history in technology and manufacturing. Slate Island Developments is also proposing a separately consented battery energy storage system with capacity of up to 99 MW alongside the data center. The company has undertaken extensive community consultation and submitted its data center planning application to Inverclyde Council in 2026.
