Pune, India, 14 November 2025- Vertiv has opened a new Training Academy and Technology Excellence Centre in Pune, expanding its investment in India’s fast-growing data-centre talent pipeline. The facility, located within Vertiv’s Integrated Business Services (IBS) hub, is designed to provide hands-on, immersive training for engineers, technicians and ecosystem partners as demand for AI-ready digital infrastructure accelerates across the region.
According to Vertiv, the new academy includes engineering labs, five specialised training bays and modular, scenario-based learning programmes that replicate real-world data-centre environments.
These setups allow participants to build practical expertise across power, thermal, white-space management and critical infrastructure operations, skills increasingly required as enterprises and cloud providers transition to more energy-intensive AI workloads.
“The Academy and Technology Excellence Centre stand as a testament to Pune’s evolution into a global hub for talent and innovation,” Vertiv said during the launch, noting that the facility will serve both local and regional learning cohorts.
The company added that the program aims to close the industry’s widening skills gap by offering structured pathways for early-career engineers while upskilling experienced operators on next-generation infrastructure.
Industry analysts have repeatedly highlighted India’s shortage of trained data-centre professionals, particularly in thermal engineering, high-density power systems and operational reliability, as hyperscale and colocation builds accelerate nationwide.
The arrival of AI-focused deployments, liquid cooling systems, and larger edge-to-core architectures has intensified that need. Vertiv’s facility aligns with broader efforts by technology providers and academic institutions to expand certified operator pipelines and develop a modern workforce capable of managing complex, high-availability environments.
Local reporting from Pune also noted the academy’s focus on experiential training rather than classroom-only modules, with live equipment demos and fault-simulation environments built to mirror production data centres.
