Adani Khavda: 2.0 GW Integrated AI-Compute & 30GW Green Hub

Status: Operational Expansion / 951MW RE Active (April 2026)   |   Location: Khavda Renewable Energy Park, Kutch

Project Overview

As of April 28, 2026, the Adani Group has reached a major milestone at its Khavda site by operationalizing 951 MW of new renewable energy projects in this month alone, further accelerating the transformation of the region into one of the world’s largest clean-energy and digital infrastructure corridors. Technically, Khavda is emerging as the world’s most integrated energy-compute platform, combining hyperscale data center development directly with a planned 30 GW solar and wind generation complex. Unlike conventional data centers that depend on constrained public grids, facilities at Khavda are being built “behind-the-meter,” meaning compute clusters are connected directly to the power source. This design is intended to bypass the grid bottlenecks increasingly slowing AI infrastructure deployment worldwide. The project’s dedicated 2.0 GW compute allocation is specifically structured to support high-density AI workloads, including training and inference for frontier-scale models. By linking GPU clusters directly to renewable generation assets, Adani can minimize transmission losses, improve uptime reliability, and achieve a superior Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) relative to grid-dependent peers. The campus is being optimized for Large Language Model (LLM) training and sovereign AI development, with dedicated GPU capacity expected for Indian startups, universities, and research institutions under the India AI Mission. Khavda therefore represents a strategic blueprint for pairing renewable abundance with national-scale AI competitiveness.
