Amazon Northwest Louisiana AI Data Center Campus (1.2 GW)

Status: Announced / Site Preparation   |   Location: Shreveport / Bossier City

Project Overview

The Amazon Northwest Louisiana AI Data Center Campus is a massive $12 billion hyperscale development spanning Caddo and Bossier Parishes. Partnering with STACK Infrastructure, Amazon is building a multi-campus network designed to support the next generation of generative AI and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads. The flagship site in west Shreveport covers over 250 acres at the Resilient Technology Park and is slated to feature seven two-story buildings totaling nearly 3 million square feet.

A defining feature of this project is the "pay-your-own-way" infrastructure model. Amazon has committed to funding 100% of the energy infrastructure costs, including new substations and grid upgrades through SWEPCO, ensuring that local residential utility rates remain unaffected. Sustainability is built into the core design: the campus will utilize outside air for cooling 87% of the year, only using water for cooling during peak summer heat (less than 13% of the time). Furthermore, Amazon is investing $400 million in public water and sewer infrastructure and has established a $250,000 community fund for local STEM education.
