Project Overview

Apple Mesa Data Center is a flagship operational data center campus located in Mesa, Arizona, occupying approximately 1.3 million square feet across an 83-acre site. Originally a semiconductor manufacturing facility, the campus was extensively redeveloped following an estimated US$2 billion investment to support Apple's expanding global cloud infrastructure and digital services ecosystem. The facility serves as one of Apple's most important operational hubs, providing large-scale computing, storage, and network infrastructure that supports millions of users worldwide. In addition to hosting mission-critical cloud workloads, the campus functions as a major network operations and infrastructure management center, helping coordinate and monitor elements of Apple's global data center footprint while supporting the continuous delivery of core digital services. The Mesa campus plays a key role in powering Apple's cloud ecosystem, including iCloud, the App Store, Apple Music, Siri, Apple Pay, Apple TV+, and other internet-based services that require highly available, secure, and low-latency infrastructure. Sustainability is a core element of the campus design, with a significant portion of its electricity demand supported through nearby utility-scale solar power generation and renewable energy procurement, contributing to Apple's long-term commitment to operating its global facilities with low-carbon energy.
