Status: Announced / Under Development | Location: Kajaani / Northern Finland Industrial Zone, Finland
Applied Digital’s Finland AI Factory campus is planned as a large-scale AI and high-performance computing development that could provide access to up to 1 GW of potential power capacity, with initial power availability anticipated from 2028. The project represents Applied Digital’s first development opportunity outside the United States and is being positioned around Finland’s power ecosystem, cooler climate, established digital infrastructure, and potential for large-scale development. The company has begun marketing the site and is discussing the opportunity with global hyperscale customers, while future investment and development remain dependent on customer demand, commercial milestones, and regulatory and development requirements. Stock Titan: The physical infrastructure described for the campus is intended to support high-density AI and HPC environments, where structural capacity and facility protection are important considerations. Heavy steel structural framing provides the primary building framework, while pre-cast insulated concrete wall panels form the external enclosure and contribute to the facility’s durability and thermal performance. Heavy-load floor slab architecture is designed to accommodate dense server rack deployments and the associated equipment loads expected within high-performance computing environments. Automated containment systems are incorporated to support controlled airflow management around high-density computing areas, helping separate supply and return air paths within the server environment. Fire protection is supported by advanced Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus systems designed to identify smoke conditions at an early stage, while double-interlock pre-action dry-pipe fire suppression units provide a controlled approach to fire protection in areas containing sensitive electrical and computing equipment. Together, these structural, airflow, detection, and suppression systems form part of the physical infrastructure required for an AI-focused data center campus. The project’s ultimate scale, construction schedule, customer commitments, and detailed technical specifications remain subject to further development and commercial milestones.
