Status: Fully Operational / Active HPC & AI Deployment | Location: Tonsbakken 12, 2740 Skovlunde / Ballerup, Greater Copenhagen, Denmark
atNorth’s DEN01 Data Center Campus in Ballerup (Skovlunde), Greater Copenhagen, is a flagship sustainable digital infrastructure facility purpose-built to support high-performance computing (HPC), hyperscale cloud services, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and other compute-intensive enterprise workloads. Strategically located within the Greater Copenhagen metropolitan region, the campus delivers 30 MW of scalable IT power capacity, providing resilient infrastructure for cloud providers, research organizations, financial institutions, and enterprises requiring high-density computing environments. The facility is engineered with advanced Direct-to-Chip Liquid Cooling (DLC) technology, enabling rack power densities ranging from 40 kW to more than 100 kW per rack, making it ideally suited for next-generation GPU clusters, AI model training, scientific simulations, and high-performance analytics. Sustainability is at the core of DEN01’s design, with operations powered entirely by 100% renewable electricity, significantly reducing carbon emissions while supporting customers’ environmental objectives. A key differentiator of the campus is its innovative waste heat recovery system, which captures residual thermal energy generated by the data center and transfers it directly into the local municipal district heating network, providing sustainable heating for nearby residential communities and improving overall energy efficiency through circular energy reuse. The campus also features resilient power infrastructure, advanced cooling systems, and high-capacity fiber connectivity, enabling secure, low-latency access to major cloud platforms, internet exchanges, and enterprise networks across the Nordic region and Europe. Combining renewable energy, AI-ready cooling technology, sustainable heat reuse, and scalable hyperscale infrastructure, atNorth’s DEN01 Data Center Campus provides a future-ready platform supporting Europe’s accelerating demand for cloud computing, AI innovation, and digital transformation.
