Operating as a key component of atNorth’s Helsinki data center ecosystem alongside FIN01 and FIN03, FIN02 strengthens the region’s position as a leading sustainable computing hub in Northern Europe. The facility includes a modern five-story, 11,200 m² extension developed in partnership with Skanska, featuring advanced infrastructure optimized for power-intensive workloads, next-generation GPU clusters, and large-scale enterprise computing environments. Engineered for extreme power density, FIN02 incorporates advanced cooling and energy efficiency solutions to support future AI deployments while maintaining operational reliability. The facility is powered by 100% renewable electricity sourced from Finland’s highly stable and predominantly clean energy grid, enabling customers to reduce carbon emissions while scaling their digital operations sustainably. A major sustainability feature of FIN02 is its integration with Fortum’s district heating network, where recovered excess heat from data center operations is reused to provide heating for local homes, improving overall energy efficiency and supporting Finland’s circular energy economy. The site also provides robust connectivity through low-latency cross-connects to FICIX (Finnish Communication and Internet Exchange), enabling efficient regional data exchange, along with direct cloud gateway access for seamless hybrid and multi-cloud deployments.
