atNorth NOR01 Data Center Campus: 350MW Sustainable Mega Hub in Haugaland, Norway

Status: Active Development / Under Construction   |   Location: Haugaland Business Park, 5570 Aksdal, Tysvær Municipality, Rogaland, Norway

Project Overview

atNorth NOR01 is a flagship 350 MW sustainable mega data center campus strategically located within the Haugaland Business Park in Western Norway, positioning it as one of the largest renewable-powered digital infrastructure developments in the Nordic region. Purpose-built to meet the rapidly growing requirements of hyperscale cloud providers, artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing (HPC), enterprise platforms, and next-generation digital services, the campus is designed with an initial IT load of 120 MW that can be expanded to a total capacity of 350 MW across an extensive 36-hectare site. The modular campus architecture enables phased deployment while providing customers with scalable, high-density colocation environments capable of supporting GPU-intensive AI training clusters and advanced compute workloads. Powered entirely by 100% certified renewable hydroelectric and wind energy backed by Guarantees of Origin (Certificates of Origin), NOR01 places sustainability at the core of its operations, helping customers significantly reduce carbon emissions while meeting stringent environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives. To efficiently manage high-density thermal loads, the facility integrates advanced Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) technology alongside closed-loop chilled water systems, enabling support for next-generation rack power densities while minimizing water consumption and maximizing cooling efficiency. The campus also participates in local district heat reuse initiatives, capturing excess waste heat from IT operations and supplying it to nearby industrial and community applications, further enhancing its environmental performance. Strategically connected through diverse terrestrial and subsea optical fiber routes, NOR01 delivers low-latency connectivity to major European digital markets, cloud regions, internet exchanges, and telecommunications networks. Combined with resilient power infrastructure, redundant electrical and mechanical systems, advanced physical security, continuous environmental monitoring, and 24/7 operational support, atNorth NOR01 provides a highly reliable, scalable, and future-ready platform for organizations deploying mission-critical cloud, AI, and high-performance computing infrastructure across Europe.
