Project Overview

Microsoft Taoyuan (TPE03) is a hyperscale cloud data center facility forming part of Microsoft’s Taiwan Data Center Region infrastructure in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. Located along Lane 525, Taoying Road, the facility expands Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure footprint in northern Taiwan alongside the TPE01 and TPE02 sites and supports the delivery of localized computing and digital services. The campus provides computing, storage, networking, and cloud infrastructure for organizations requiring scalable and reliable access to Microsoft Azure services within Taiwan. Its regional deployment supports applicable data residency requirements by allowing organizations to host workloads and data within the country, while localized infrastructure can also help reduce network distance between cloud applications and end users. TPE03 supports enterprise workloads such as application hosting, data storage, cloud backup, disaster recovery, analytics, database services, and digital transformation initiatives. Its hyperscale architecture enables computing and storage resources to be deployed according to changing demand, making the facility suitable for enterprises, public sector organizations, financial institutions, and technology companies with varying infrastructure requirements. The data center is also relevant to artificial intelligence and machine learning workloads, which depend on high-performance computing, accelerated processing, high-capacity networking, and scalable storage for model training, inference, analytics, and AI application deployment. Its location in Taoyuan provides access to a major industrial and technology ecosystem, established telecommunications networks, and connectivity with Taipei and other economic centers across Taiwan. Taoyuan’s proximity to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport further supports regional business connectivity and access to international markets. As part of Microsoft’s Taiwan cloud infrastructure, TPE03 contributes to the availability of localized Azure services and provides organizations with infrastructure for transitioning applications from traditional IT environments to cloud platforms.
