Cirion SJO1 San Jose Data Center: Carrier-Neutral Central America Hub

Status: Operational / Active Regional Expansion   |   Location: Escazú, San Rafael, Greater San José Metropolitan Area, CP 10203, Costa Rica

Project Overview

Cirion Technologies’ SJO1 Data Center Campus in San José, Costa Rica, is a leading carrier-neutral digital infrastructure facility serving as a strategic connectivity hub for Central America and international markets. Spanning approximately 12,000 m² of gross building area, SJO1 is designed to support a wide range of mission-critical workloads from hyperscale cloud providers, telecommunications carriers, financial institutions, multinational enterprises, and digital service companies. The campus is directly integrated with Cirion’s extensive Pan-Latin American terrestrial and subsea optical fiber network, enabling reliable, low-latency connectivity routes between Central America, North America, and South America. Engineered for high availability, SJO1 features advanced infrastructure including high-density rack support, resilient 2N power distribution architecture, and robust operational systems to support demanding enterprise and cloud environments. The facility benefits from Costa Rica’s highly sustainable energy ecosystem, with the national power grid primarily supported by renewable sources such as hydroelectric, geothermal, and wind energy, helping customers achieve lower-carbon digital operations. With its strategic geographic location, strong international connectivity, renewable energy advantages, and carrier-neutral ecosystem, Cirion SJO1 plays a vital role in strengthening Costa Rica’s position as an emerging digital gateway for the Americas. The campus provides secure, scalable, and efficient infrastructure for organizations seeking reliable colocation services and next-generation digital capacity in the Central American region.
