Cologix Montréal MTL12 Data Center Expansion: Nun's Island Edge Hub
Status: Operational / Active Expansion Phase | Location: 3000 Boulevard René-Lévesque, Verdun / Nun's Island, Montréal, QC H3E 1T9, Canada
Project Overview
Cologix’s MTL12 Data Center Facility on Nun’s Island (Île des Sœurs) is a strategic edge colocation expansion located adjacent to the company’s MTL2 facility in Montréal, Canada. Designed to support enterprise, cloud, network, and digital infrastructure requirements, MTL12 provides secure and scalable whitespace within one of Montréal’s most connected data center ecosystems. The facility is integrated with Cologix’s broader Montréal platform through high-speed Metro Connect services, enabling seamless connectivity to 11 additional data centers across the region, including MTL3, Montréal’s primary carrier hotel and interconnection hub. MTL12 delivers low-latency access to more than 100 network providers, carriers, and service partners, along with direct cloud on-ramps that support hybrid cloud deployments, enterprise applications, and digital transformation initiatives. Powered by Hydro-Québec’s clean renewable hydroelectric energy, the facility benefits from one of the world’s most sustainable power grids while helping customers reduce their carbon footprint. Engineered with advanced security measures, N+1 environmental controls, and resilient infrastructure, MTL12 provides reliable operations for mission-critical workloads requiring high availability and geographic redundancy from downtown Montréal locations. With its strategic island location, strong connectivity ecosystem, renewable energy advantage, and integration into Cologix’s Montréal campus network, MTL12 strengthens the region’s position as a leading North American digital infrastructure hub for cloud computing, edge services, and enterprise colocation solutions.
