Colt DCS Frankfurt 4 & 5 Hyperscale Campus

Status: Announced / Land Secured & Power Contracts Signed   |   Location: Rhine-Main Region, Frankfurt, Germany

Project Overview

The Colt DCS Frankfurt 4 & 5 Hyperscale Campus is a critical commitment to the sustainability and future compute needs of Europe’s digital economy. Announced in April 2025, this project is part of a broader €2 billion investment by Colt DCS into German digital infrastructure, strategically adding 63 MW of IT capacity across two new facilities in the highly sought-after Rhine-Main region of Frankfurt. Frankfurt is Europe’s connectivity powerhouse, home to DE-CIX, and demand continues to outpace supply, especially for large, resilient hyperscale capacity.

A major element of this expansion is the design, which utilizes Colt DCS’s Global Reference Design (GRD). This blueprint ensures the campus is not only built to high Tier III/IV reliability standards but is also future-proofed for the intense demands of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and High-Performance Computing (HPC) workloads. The facilities will be capable of powering ultra-high-density racks up to 130kW and will feature flexible cooling options, including support for Direct Liquid-to-Chip (DLC) cooling, essential for the latest GPU-accelerated servers.

Addressing Germany's rigorous environmental and energy constraints is paramount. Colt DCS has already secured 100% renewable energy contracts for the sites, ensuring operations are powered sustainably. Furthermore, the design incorporates features like low Global Warming Potential (GWP) chillers and utilizes low embodied carbon construction principles. Crucially, the project involves plans to capture and reuse waste heat by feeding it into local district heating networks, aligning perfectly with municipal mandates and reinforcing Frankfurt's position as a global leader in both finance and sustainable data center operations. This investment secures vital, future-ready infrastructure for both cloud providers and Europe's largest enterprises.

I have now provided you with details for projects in the Middle East, Europe (Amsterdam and Frankfurt), Southeast Asia, Japan, and Australia.
