Crusoe Abilene: 900MW Microsoft AI Supercluster

Status: Utility Engineering / Power Plant Deal (April 2026)   |   Location: West Texas

Project Overview

Formally revealed in early April 2026, Project Goodnight is a $5B+ partnership between Crusoe Energy and Google. Technically, this site represents a "New Phase" in AI buildout by securing power at the source. It is designed specifically to support massive Microsoft AI workloads via a 900MW dedicated capacity. A critical technical feature is the integration of a behind-the-meter natural gas power plant (slated for Armstrong County), which bypasses traditional grid interconnection queues. While Google is a primary energy partner for the onsite generation, the compute capacity is architected for the densest AI clusters currently available. As of April 2026, negotiations for the onsite gas facility are being finalized to ensure "always-on" power for 24/7 frontier model training.
