True IDC Thailand AI Hub: 250MW EEC Hyperscale Campus
Status: Under Construction / Groundbreaking (April 2026) | Location: Chonburi
Project Overview
Announced on April 1, 2026, the True IDC AI Factory represents a landmark investment of 77 billion THB (approximately $2.4 billion) aimed at strengthening Thailand’s data sovereignty and digital infrastructure. Developed by True IDC, a subsidiary of CP Group, in partnership with BlackRock through its Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) division, the project is the first facility in Thailand purpose-built to support advanced GPU clusters for large-scale artificial intelligence training workloads. The AI Factory features a fully modular architecture, enabling rapid deployment and scalable expansion to meet evolving hyperscaler demands. This design positions the facility as a “platform play,” attracting global cloud providers such as Microsoft, which has already committed as a major tenant for its Thailand Cloud Region. Strategically, the facility underpins Thailand’s emerging “Security Economy” by ensuring that sensitive and mission-critical data can be processed and stored domestically, reducing reliance on cross-border data flows. At the same time, it incorporates a high-efficiency power architecture optimized for best-in-class Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), balancing sustainability with the immense energy demands of AI infrastructure.
