Cheyenne Wyoming AI Campus: 1.8GW Project Jade Stargate
Status: Under Construction / Site Preparation (April 2026) | Location: south of Cheyenne,
Project Overview
Approved in January 2026, Project Jade represents a record-breaking $35B+ AI infrastructure investment led by Crusoe in partnership with Tallgrass Energy. Architected for complete grid independence, the campus introduces a bold “behind-the-meter” energy strategy to avoid straining Wyoming’s public utilities. At the heart of this approach is the Cheyenne Power Hub an expansive on-site natural gas turbine facility designed to deliver up to 1.8 GW of immediate power capacity, exceeding more than five times the total residential electricity consumption of the state. Crucially, the energy roadmap includes carbon capture and COâ‚‚ sequestration, aligning the project with longer-term emissions reduction goals while maintaining the reliability required for hyperscale AI workloads.
From a technical standpoint, Project Jade is purpose-built for next-generation GPU clusters, including advanced systems based on NVIDIA’s Blackwell and Rubin architectures, which demand unprecedented power density and thermal management. To address this, the campus employs a high-efficiency liquid cooling architecture capable of sustaining racks exceeding 100kW.
