Data4 Milan Data Center Campus: 270MW AI Digital Hub
Status: Operational (MIL01 Phase 1–DC09) / Active Construction & Expansion (MIL01 expansion & MIL02) | Location: Cornaredo (MIL01: Via Monzoro, 101-105) & Vittuone (MIL02: Via Giovanni Pascoli), Metropolitan City of Milan, Italy
Project Overview
Data4’s Milan Campus is one of the largest and most advanced digital infrastructure developments in Italy and Southern Europe, strategically spanning 28 hectares across two interconnected sites in Cornaredo (MIL01) and Vittuone (MIL02). Upon full completion, the mega-campus is planned to deliver an impressive 270 MW of total critical IT capacity across 18 purpose-built data center modules, providing one of the region’s most scalable platforms for hyperscale cloud providers, multinational enterprises, public sector organisations, and artificial intelligence (AI) applications. Located approximately 15 km west of central Milan, the campus benefits from excellent access to major transportation corridors and Italy’s primary fibre backbone networks, enabling low-latency connectivity across domestic and international markets. Designed as a carrier-neutral ecosystem, the campus offers customers flexible interconnection with multiple telecommunications providers, direct access to leading public cloud platforms, and seamless support for hybrid and multi-cloud deployments. Engineered to meet the growing requirements of next-generation digital infrastructure, the facilities incorporate AI-ready high-density liquid cooling technologies capable of supporting power-intensive GPU clusters, machine learning platforms, and high-performance computing (HPC) environments while maintaining high levels of energy efficiency and operational reliability. Sustainability is embedded throughout the campus design, with modern power distribution, energy-efficient cooling systems, and infrastructure developed to support long-term environmental objectives alongside scalable digital growth. Combined with enterprise-grade physical security, resilient utility infrastructure, advanced connectivity, and flexible expansion capabilities, Data4’s Milan Campus provides a future-ready foundation for mission-critical workloads and strengthens Milan’s position as one of Europe’s leading hubs for cloud, AI, and hyperscale digital infrastructure.
