DayOne SIJORI Hyperscale Hub (Singapore Anchor)
Status: Active Expansion / Series C Funding Finalized | Location: Tai Seng / Jurong Cluster, Singapore
Project Overview
The DayOne SIJORI Hyperscale Hub represents a new paradigm in "cross-border" digital infrastructure. Officially rebranded from GDS International earlier in 2025, DayOne finalized negotiations on December 18, 2025, for a massive $2.6 billion (S$3.4 billion) Series C funding round, valuing the company at $10 billion. This capital injection is specifically earmarked for the completion of the "SIJORI" growth trianglea strategic cluster that links high-performance computing in Singapore with massive-scale capacity in Johor (Malaysia) and Batam (Indonesia). The Singapore anchor of this project is a high-density, AI-ready facility designed to function as the low-latency "Inference Hub" for the region. Because Singapore faces land and power constraints, DayOne has pioneered a "disaggregated campus" model. While the Singapore site handles mission-critical real-time processing, it is linked via a dedicated subsea fiber ring to a Gigawatt-scale "Training Hub" in Johor’s Nusajaya Tech Park. This allows hyperscalers to run energy-intensive AI model training in Malaysia—where power and space are abundant—while maintaining their core switching and low-latency applications in Singapore.Technically, the campus is a showcase for sustainable tropical engineering. It features a proprietary liquid cooling-as-a-service platform to support the extreme thermal demands of 100kW+ AI racks. On the sustainability front, the project is integrated with the "Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone" energy initiatives, utilizing a mix of solar power from Malaysia and renewable energy imports to Singapore. This $2.6 billion funding milestone, led by global giants like SoftBank and Citadel, positions DayOne as the dominant independent hyperscale operator in Southeast Asia, providing a seamless digital bridge across three nations.
