EdgeConneX Italy Hyperscale Expansion
Status: Active Development Phase | Location: Milan Technology Hub, Italy
Project Overview
EdgeConneX has finalized an ambitious €3 billion ($3.45 billion) investment framework to construct three new high-density hyperscale data centers in Italy. Strategically situated within the rapidly growing Milan digital hub, this multi-facility expansion represents a massive surge in Southern European mission-critical real estate outside India. Driven directly by the computing demands of generative AI architectures and multi-tenant hyperscale cloud providers, the project bypasses legacy market space constraints by securing long-term land and utility runway. The campus structures are engineered from the foundation up to act as high-performance "AI Factories," providing international tech platforms with the localized capacity needed to process heavy workloads, massive algorithmic training models, and centralized enterprise cloud applications.
