EdgeConneX Richmond Data Center EDCRIC01 East Parham Road Richmond Virginia

Status: Operational / Active Edge Data Center   |   Location: 1450 E Parham Rd, Richmond, VA 23228, United States

Project Overview

The EdgeConneX Richmond Data Center EDCRIC01, located at 1450 E Parham Road in Henrico County, Virginia, represents a purpose-built edge data center facility designed to provide low-latency digital infrastructure across the Greater Richmond market. Developed to bring cloud services, content delivery networks, enterprise applications, and other digital workloads closer to regional end users, the facility provides approximately 10 MW of gross utility power capacity and 8 MW of critical IT load within a secure and resilient operating environment. Electrical infrastructure is supported by dual utility feeds from Dominion Energy, providing redundant grid connectivity for mission-critical operations. Static N+1 uninterruptible power supply systems are deployed alongside standby emergency diesel generators to maintain service continuity during utility interruptions or grid disturbances. Thermal management incorporates high-efficiency closed-loop chiller systems engineered to support increasing server densities while maintaining stable environmental conditions for customer equipment. As an important edge connectivity hub outside the Northern Virginia data center market, EDCRIC01 is designed to provide access to regional telecommunications infrastructure through subterranean dark-fiber entry vaults, dual carrier-neutral meet-me rooms, diverse fiber pathways, and connectivity toward regional subsea cable landing infrastructure serving Henrico County and surrounding markets. The facility’s network architecture supports low-latency connections between enterprises, cloud platforms, content providers, telecommunications carriers, and regional users. Physical security incorporates controlled perimeter access, monitored entry points, biometric authentication, surveillance infrastructure, and zero-trust access controls. Through its strategic Richmond-area location, resilient power architecture, efficient cooling systems, and carrier-neutral connectivity, EDCRIC01 is positioned to support growing edge computing, cloud connectivity, enterprise colocation, and content delivery requirements throughout Central Virginia.
