Flexential Richmond Data Center RIC1

Status: Operational / Active Colocation Facility   |   Location: 8851 Park Central Drive, Richmond, VA 23227, United States

Project Overview

The Flexential Richmond Data Center, located at 8851 Park Central Drive in Henrico County, Virginia, represents a mission-critical colocation facility serving enterprises, cloud providers, and digital infrastructure customers across the Greater Richmond data center corridor. Designed to accommodate enterprise edge computing, high-density colocation, hybrid cloud deployments, and business-critical workloads, the facility provides approximately 12.5 MW of gross utility power capacity and 10 MW of critical IT load across a secure data center environment. Its electrical infrastructure incorporates dual high-voltage utility feeds from Dominion Energy, supported by static N+1 uninterruptible power supply systems and standby emergency diesel generators to provide resilience during utility disruptions. Thermal management is delivered through high-efficiency closed-loop N+1 cooling systems designed to maintain reliable operating conditions as rack densities and computing requirements increase. The facility also serves as a regional interconnection point outside Northern Virginia, providing customers with access to terrestrial dark-fiber corridors and connectivity routes serving major regional markets. Network infrastructure includes dual carrier-neutral meet-me rooms, diverse fiber pathways, and connectivity options designed to support low-latency connections between enterprise facilities, cloud platforms, carriers, and other digital infrastructure providers. Physical security incorporates controlled perimeter access, monitored entry points, surveillance systems, and zero-trust access principles to protect critical equipment and customer environments. The facility’s Richmond location provides an alternative to Northern Virginia while maintaining access to major East Coast connectivity corridors. Commercial offerings may also include incentives such as zero-dollar non-recurring setup charges for qualifying enterprise deployments, helping customers reduce initial deployment costs while establishing resilient colocation infrastructure in the Richmond market.
