The EDGNEX AI-Focused Data Center Campus in Jakarta is a landmark project that signals the rapid maturation and specialization of Indonesia's digital infrastructure market. Backed by a substantial US$2.3 billion investment from the Dubai-based DAMAC Group, this facility is poised to become one of the largest and most advanced hyperscale campuses in Southeast Asia (SEA). The sheer scale—with a future projected capacity of 144 MW across a 12-hectare site in the Cikarang industrial area—is designed specifically to address the accelerating demand from major cloud providers and, critically, the burgeoning need for AI and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads in Indonesia.Indonesia is the largest economy in SEA and is experiencing exponential digital growth, making Jakarta a must-have location for hyperscalers like Microsoft, which recently announced a multi-billion dollar investment in its local cloud region. The EDGNEX campus is strategically timed to support this expansion.A defining feature of this project is its explicit focus on AI readiness. The facility is engineered to support the high-density requirements of modern AI clusters, including infrastructure for high-density AI racks and likely advanced liquid cooling systems, which are necessary to manage power loads that can easily exceed $50 \text{kW}$ per rack. Furthermore, despite being located in a tropical climate, the campus is targeting a highly efficient PUE of 1.32.
