Ascenty Vinhedo Campus

Status: Operational (Phase 1 & 2) / Under Expansion (Phase 3+)   |   Location: Vinhedo (Near Campinas/Greater São Paulo), Brazil

Project Overview

The Ascenty Vinhedo Campus, located in the municipality of Vinhedo in the greater São Paulo State region, is currently recognized as the largest data center campus in Latin America. The development is a joint venture between two global infrastructure powerhouses, Digital Realty and Brookfield, solidifying its position as the premier destination for hyperscale and major cloud provider deployments in the region. While the initial phases (Vinhedo 1 and 2) are already fully operational with over 61 MW of capacity, the current project focuses on the strategic expansion to add three more large data centers (Vinhedo 3, 4, and 5), bringing the total planned IT load of the campus to a massive 114 MW.

The campus's location is highly strategic, situated approximately 70 kilometers from the city of São Paulo, mitigating the higher operational costs and space constraints of the city proper while remaining highly connected to the main commercial and digital ecosystem. The facility is a certified Tier III environment, guaranteeing high resilience and 100% infrastructure availability. A key differentiator for Ascenty is its robust connectivity ecosystem. The campus is a central node on Ascenty's proprietary 5,000+ km fiber-optic network, offering direct, low-latency connections to the main Internet Exchange Points (IX.br) in São Paulo and Campinas, as well as private connections to all major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.).

Furthermore, Ascenty has made a significant commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles. All their operations, including the Vinhedo Campus, are powered by 100% renewable energy and are carbon neutral. The cooling systems employ advanced techniques like closed-loop chilled water systems, resulting in an effective Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE) of zero, a critical environmental achievement in a region where water management is paramount. This massive, sustainable, and highly connected campus underscores the accelerating digital transformation and cloud adoption driving the growth of the Latin American market.
