Project Overview

Element Critical Chicago One is a 151,000 sq ft enterprise colocation and disaster recovery data center located at 711 North Edgewood Avenue in Wood Dale, Illinois, within the strategically important O’Hare submarket. The two-story facility provides 85,500 sq ft of raised-floor whitespace and is supported by 7 MW of utility power supplied through dual ComEd substations, providing the electrical infrastructure required for demanding enterprise and mission-critical workloads. Originally developed as a financial resiliency hub, Chicago One is designed to support organizations requiring high levels of availability, disaster recovery, and geographically resilient infrastructure. The facility supports cabinet densities of 20 kW and above, along with liquid-cooling configurations, enabling it to accommodate higher-density computing environments and evolving workloads that require greater power and thermal-management capacity. As a carrier-neutral data center, Chicago One provides customers with connectivity choices across multiple network providers while offering direct, low-latency fiber paths to major Chicago carrier hotels. Within each data hall, 2N redundant electrical backplanes provide independent power paths designed to strengthen infrastructure resilience and support continuous operations. The facility also offers 100% uptime service-level agreements, aligning its infrastructure with the requirements of enterprises running critical applications and business operations. Its location in Wood Dale places the site within the broader O’Hare data center and connectivity ecosystem, providing access to Chicago’s established network infrastructure while supporting regional and enterprise connectivity needs.
