Project Overview

CyrusOne CHI6 is a flagship hyperscale data center facility with an initial IT capacity of 18 MW, located on a 62-acre master-planned campus at 460–480 Bryn Mawr Avenue in Wood Dale, Illinois, within the strategically important O’Hare submarket. The broader campus is planned to deliver more than 500,000 sq ft across multiple state-of-the-art data center facilities, positioning CHI6 as a major component of CyrusOne’s expansion in the Chicago market. Direct ComEd grid interconnects provide the facility with access to utility power required for large-scale hyperscale deployments, while ultra-high-density rack power options support demanding compute environments and data-intensive workloads. The cooling infrastructure uses zero-water-consumption cooling loops, reducing reliance on water for ongoing thermal management and supporting the campus’s resource-efficiency objectives. N+1 electrical and mechanical redundancy adds resilience by providing additional capacity for critical infrastructure components and maintenance requirements. Connectivity is another key feature, with multi-path subterranean carrier fiber entrances providing diverse network access into the facility and helping reduce dependency on a single physical route. Direct low-latency cloud connectivity to major Chicago peering hubs further connects CHI6 to the region’s broader digital ecosystem, supporting cloud services, enterprise applications, content delivery, and high-volume data exchange. Its location in Wood Dale also places the campus within the established O’Hare data center corridor, where access to power and dense network infrastructure supports large-scale deployments.
