Status: Operational / Active Multi-Building Hyperscale Campus | Location: 255-275 Pierce Rd, Itasca, IL 60143, USA
NTT Chicago Data Center Campus is a 19-acre hyperscale compute development located at 255–275 Pierce Road in Itasca, Illinois, designed to support high-density enterprise, cloud, and AI model training workloads within the Chicago data center market. The campus comprises two purpose-built multi-story facilities, CH1 and CH2, with each facility delivering 36 MW of critical IT load and 126,000 sq ft of technical whitespace, providing substantial capacity for compute-intensive deployments. Dual-fed ComEd utility lines provide the campus with utility power through separate feeds, supporting infrastructure resilience for mission-critical operations. The facilities are engineered for high-density environments, with high-efficiency closed-loop cooling systems designed to manage the thermal requirements of modern computing infrastructure. These systems support high-density liquid cooling of up to 50 kW+ per rack, making the campus suitable for increasingly power-intensive AI, machine learning, cloud, and other data-intensive workloads where conventional air cooling may be less suitable. Connectivity is supported through subterranean carrier-neutral fiber routes, providing diverse network access while helping protect physical connectivity paths. Low-latency connections to major Chicago peering exchanges further integrate the campus with the region’s broader network ecosystem, supporting efficient traffic exchange, cloud connectivity, enterprise applications, and data-intensive services. The Itasca location also places the development within the established Chicago-area data center corridor, offering access to the region’s utility and network infrastructure. By combining two 36 MW facilities, high-density liquid-cooling capability, dual utility feeds, carrier-neutral fiber routes, and connectivity to major peering exchanges, NTT Chicago Data Center Campus provides infrastructure designed for scalable hyperscale computing and emerging AI workloads requiring substantial power, cooling, and network capacity.
