Empyrion KR1: 40MW Gangnam AI-Ready Carrier-Neutral Facility
Status: Active / Fully Operational & Live Production Staging (Tracking June 2026) | Location: 224 Yangjae-dong, Seocho-gu, Gangnam Area, Seoul, 137-130, South Korea
Project Overview
The Empyrion Digital KR1 Gangnam Data Centre is a state-of-the-art, high-density digital infrastructure asset situated at 224 Yangjae-dong within Seoul's premium Gangnam technology corridor. Representing Empyrion Digital’s flagship deployment in South Korea, this 40 MW facility is custom-engineered to overcome the extreme grid limitations and space scarcity that prevent hyperscale expansions inside Seoul's core business districts. Formally launched and processing live production workloads through mid-2026, the 9-story vertical structure supplies 30,714 square meters of premium colocation space built explicitly for high-performance computing (HPC) and graphic processing unit (GPU) clusters. Developed through a core connectivity partnership with Sejong Telecom, KR1 integrates a carrier-neutral ecosystem right at the heart of the metro network. This strategic positioning allows international cloud service providers, gaming platforms, and enterprise AI developers to scale high-density cabinets while securing direct, ultra-low latency access to local dark fiber backbones and regional internet exchanges.
