Equinix Elk Grove Campus (CH3 IBX) is a 379,662 gross sq ft International Business Exchange (IBX) data center facility located at 1905–2001 Lunt Avenue in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, serving as a major financial, cloud, and network interconnection hub within the Chicago metropolitan area. The three-story facility delivers 10.8 MW of critical IT load across 196,151 sq ft of technical whitespace, providing substantial capacity for enterprises, financial institutions, cloud platforms, and network-intensive deployments. CH3 is supported by N+1 power infrastructure and N+2 cooling systems, providing additional redundancy and capacity for critical operations and helping accommodate maintenance or component failures without disrupting supported workloads. A key strategic advantage is the facility’s direct dark fiber connectivity to Equinix’s downtown Chicago carrier hotel ecosystem at 350 East Cermak, including CH1, CH2, and CH4. This connectivity links the Elk Grove campus to one of the region’s major interconnection environments, supporting efficient access to carriers, networks, cloud platforms, and enterprise ecosystems. Integration with Equinix Fabric further expands interconnection options, enabling customers to establish connections across digital infrastructure environments and support hybrid and multicloud architectures. CH3 also supports high-density liquid cooling for AI enterprise applications, providing an infrastructure option for compute environments with increasing thermal and power requirements.
