The Equinix LG3 Lagos IBX Data Center is a new, purpose-built International Business Exchange facility located at 43 Saka Tinubu Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. Developed and operated by global digital infrastructure leader Equinix, Inc., LG3 represents the company’s first ground-up, newly constructed data center in West Africa following its acquisition of MainOne. Located in the primary business and financial district of Victoria Island, the project extends Equinix's Lagos metro presence alongside existing legacy facilities (LG1 and LG2 in Lekki). The facility is specifically designed to provide carrier-neutral colocation, cloud interconnectivity, and AI-ready digital infrastructure to local enterprises, financial institutions, telecommunication providers, and global hyperscalers. Representing an initial capital investment of $22 million, LG3 is part of Equinix’s broader $100 million commitment to expand digital infrastructure across Africa. The project officially moved into development in Q4 2025 with target commercial commissioning scheduled for Q2 2026. Strategically connected to regional terrestrial networks and key subsea cable landing systems on the Gulf of Guinea, LG3 integrates directly with Equinix Fabric to offer high-speed, low-latency, software-defined virtual interconnections and cloud-on-ramps. The building design prioritizes energy efficiency and climate resilience, targeting 100% renewable energy coverage in line with Equinix’s global sustainability objectives. By delivering secure, highly reliable colocation and direct local ecosystem integration in Nigeria's commercial capital, LG3 plays a critical role in supporting data localization, naira-denominated enterprise cloud adoption, and the rapid expansion of West Africa's broader digital economy.
