Equinix MB2 Mumbai: Flagship Interconnection & Cloud Gateway Hub
Status: Operational / Fully Integrated Campus Node | Location: Plot No. 37, Chandivali Farm Road, Andheri East, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400072, India
Project Overview
Equinix MB2 is a flagship three-story International Business Exchange (IBX) data center strategically located in Mumbai's Chandivali digital corridor, one of India's most significant connectivity and colocation hubs. Originally developed as GPX India's landmark GPX2 facility, the data center became part of Equinix's global platform following the company's acquisition of GPX India in 2020. MB2 provides approximately 32,529 square feet (3,022 m²) of high-density colocation whitespace designed to support enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud deployments, and mission-critical digital workloads. The facility is interconnected through a physically diverse, high-capacity dark fiber ring with the nearby MB1 and MB3 data centers, forming Equinix's highly resilient Chandivali Campus and enabling low-latency connectivity across multiple facilities. As one of India's most carrier-dense digital gateways, MB2 hosts an extensive ecosystem of telecommunications providers, internet service providers, cloud platforms, enterprises, and financial institutions, allowing customers to establish direct and secure interconnections with key business partners. The facility also provides access to major cloud on-ramps, critical subsea cable systems landing in Mumbai, and leading internet exchanges, strengthening regional and international connectivity. Built with resilient power and cooling infrastructure, advanced physical security, and redundant network architecture, MB2 supports high-density computing, AI-ready deployments, and hybrid multi-cloud environments. Its strategic location, rich interconnection ecosystem, and scalable infrastructure make Equinix MB2 a vital digital hub for organizations expanding their presence across India and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
