Project Overview

Equinix OT1, also known as the Ottawa IBX, is a flagship carrier-neutral data center located at 200 Avenue Lépine in Gatineau, Quebec, within Canada's Ottawa National Capital Region. The facility spans more than 21,400 square feet of specialized whitespace and provides secure colocation and interconnection infrastructure for government agencies, defence contractors, financial organizations, technology companies, and enterprises with stringent data residency requirements. Originally constructed by Bell Canada as a mission-critical telecommunications facility, OT1 was subsequently acquired by Equinix in October 2020 as part of the company's $750 million acquisition of a Canadian data center portfolio. The facility now operates as an important interconnection point between Quebec and Ontario, supporting organizations that require reliable connectivity across the National Capital Region and broader Canadian network ecosystem.
