LiquidCool Loring is an artificial intelligence data center campus located within Building No. 7230 at the former Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, Maine, developed by LiquidCool Solutions in partnership with Green 4 Maine. The facility encompasses approximately 115,000 square feet and is designed specifically to accommodate high-density GPU computing, artificial intelligence workloads, high-performance computing, and other computationally intensive applications. LiquidCool Loring incorporates LiquidCool Solutions' patented rack-based liquid immersion cooling technology, providing a thermal management architecture suited to the high heat densities generated by modern GPU infrastructure. The cooling system is designed to improve heat removal efficiency while supporting dense compute deployments within the available facility footprint, with a target power usage effectiveness of approximately 1.05. The facility's location at the former military installation also provides access to existing infrastructure that can support the development of a large-scale computing environment. Connectivity is supported through direct access to the Three-Ring Binder fiber optic backbone, providing a high-capacity network connection to the broader telecommunications ecosystem and MAE-East. Power availability is another important component of the campus strategy, with access to regional hydropower supporting the facility's focus on energy-efficient computing infrastructure. The combination of liquid immersion cooling, high-density GPU deployment, fiber connectivity, and regional power resources creates an infrastructure environment suited to AI model training, inference, scientific computing, and sovereign cloud applications. Its redevelopment within the former Loring Air Force Base also provides an opportunity to repurpose an existing large-scale industrial and military site for advanced digital infrastructure. By combining approximately 115,000 square feet of space with specialized immersion cooling, high-density compute capabilities, fiber backbone connectivity, and access to regional hydropower, LiquidCool Loring is positioned as a specialized computing campus for AI, HPC, and other data-intensive workloads.
