Status: Fully Operational Carrier-Neutral IBX Facility | Location: Ruta 66, Camino de la Fruta, S/N, San Pedro, RegiΓ³n Metropolitana, Chile
Equinix ST4 is a specialized carrier-neutral International Business Exchange (IBX) colocation data center strategically located in Longovilo, San Pedro, within Chile's Región Metropolitana. Positioned outside the urban core of Santiago, the facility has been purpose-built to provide geographically diverse infrastructure for backup, business continuity, disaster recovery, and secondary production environments, making it an ideal solution for financial institutions, multinational enterprises, government organizations, telecommunications providers, and operators of critical infrastructure. Originally developed by Entel and incorporated into Equinix's global data center platform following the 2022 acquisition of Entel's data center business, ST4 extends Equinix's presence in Chile by delivering resilient colocation services in a lower-risk location while complementing its metropolitan facilities in Santiago. The data center provides approximately 11,410 square feet of secure colocation space with flexible deployment options capable of supporting enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud connectivity, artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing (HPC), and mission-critical digital workloads. Engineered with resilient electrical and mechanical infrastructure, energy-efficient cooling systems, redundant utility feeds, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, backup generators, enterprise-grade physical security, and continuous environmental monitoring, ST4 is designed to maintain maximum service availability during both planned and unexpected events. Through Metro Connect fiber services, the facility is directly interconnected with Equinix ST1, ST2, and ST3 in downtown Santiago, enabling customers to build highly resilient, low-latency metropolitan network architectures. In addition, Equinix Fabric provides secure, private connectivity to major Latin American telecommunications networks, internet exchanges, business partners, and leading global cloud platforms, allowing organizations to deploy hybrid and multi-cloud environments with enhanced performance and reliability. By combining geographic diversity, robust infrastructure, and extensive interconnection capabilities, Equinix ST4 serves as a future-ready digital infrastructure platform that strengthens business continuity strategies while supporting the continued growth of cloud adoption and digital transformation across Chile and Latin America.
