Equinix SY10x Sydney: 28MW Hyperscale AI Data Center Hub
Status: Implementation / Commissioning (April 2026) | Location: 10 Grand Avenue, Rosehill, Sydney
Project Overview
As of April 2026, SY10x represents the newest expansion within the Equinix xScale™ portfolio in Sydney, purpose-built to anchor the rapidly growing compute demands of global hyperscale cloud and AI providers. Strategically located in Rosehill, New South Wales, adjacent to its sister facility SY9x, the site forms part of an emerging high-capacity power and connectivity corridor across the Parramatta and Western Sydney region. This positioning enables direct access to critical energy infrastructure and fiber routes, supporting the scalability requirements of next-generation digital workloads. Technically, SY10x is engineered to accommodate hybrid multi-cloud architectures, allowing hyperscalers to integrate public cloud, private infrastructure, and edge deployments within a unified environment. Its design emphasizes high-density power distribution and robust structural engineering, with multi-story capacity tailored for heavy technical loads associated with AI training clusters and high-performance computing. Within Equinix’s broader metro architecture, SY10x serves as a complementary “core-scale” facility, bridging the gap between hyperscale deployments and the interconnection-rich retail IBX sites such as SY1–SY5. This integration enables customers to combine massive compute capacity with low-latency access to enterprise ecosystems, financial networks, and digital service providers, reinforcing Sydney’s role as a leading Asia-Pacific hub for cloud and AI infrastructure.
