Hillsboro Oregon Flexential 36MW High Density Hyperscale Colocation Data Center

Status: Operational / Active Flagship Campus Anchor   |   Location: 5419 NE Starr Blvd, Hillsboro, OR 97124, USA

Project Overview

The Flexential Portland – Hillsboro 3 Data Center is a flagship 36 MW enterprise and hyperscale colocation facility operated by Flexential at 5419 NE Starr Blvd in Hillsboro, Oregon, USA. Serving as a major anchor facility within Flexential’s primary Starr Boulevard campus, Hillsboro 3 is strategically positioned in Oregon’s renowned “Silicon Forest” technology and data center corridor. The multi-tenant facility spans approximately 358,000 square feet and is engineered to accommodate high-density, mission-critical computing environments, including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, enterprise applications, and other demanding workloads. Its infrastructure supports rack power densities exceeding 80 kW per cabinet, enabling customers to deploy advanced GPU systems, accelerated computing platforms, and other high-performance equipment that require substantially greater computing density than traditional enterprise environments. The facility’s location within Hillsboro provides access to an extensive ecosystem of fiber networks, telecommunications carriers, cloud providers, and major data center campuses, allowing customers to establish efficient connections across the Pacific Northwest and broader West Coast markets. Hillsboro 3 also forms an important part of Flexential’s connectivity strategy through its relationship with the NAP of the Northwest, supporting access to high-capacity network infrastructure and trans-Pacific connectivity routes. This ecosystem provides customers with efficient pathways toward major cloud on-ramps, regional networks, and West Coast fiber corridors. The facility benefits from Oregon’s substantial renewable energy resources and access to electricity supplied by Portland General Electric, reinforcing Hillsboro’s attractiveness for energy-intensive digital infrastructure. As demand for AI, machine learning, high-performance computing, and hyperscale cloud services continues to grow, Hillsboro 3 provides the high-density capacity and network connectivity required by next-generation workloads. Its combination of substantial IT capacity, high rack-density capabilities, extensive interconnection options, and strategic location makes it a significant component of Flexential’s Pacific Northwest portfolio while strengthening Hillsboro’s position as a major US data center market.
