Gorilla Korat: 200MW AI Data Center Thailand
Status: Announced / Initial Site Prep | Location: Korat, Nakhon Ratchasima Province
Project Overview
The Gorilla Korat AI Data Center Campus represents a massive expansion of high-density computational power into the emerging Southeast Asian technology theater. Officially announced in June 2026, this ambitious 200-megawatt (MW) development located in Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima), Thailand, is designed to support the region’s explosive push toward localized data sovereignty and artificial intelligence capability. By building outside traditional Tier-1 APAC hubs like Singapore and Bangkok, Gorilla Technology leverages Korat's expansive land layout and direct regional power line assets. The mega-campus is engineered from the ground up as a dedicated AI factory, hosting up to 76,000 graphics processing units (GPUs) at full deployment to process complex large language models, smart-city edge computing, and sovereign cyber-intelligence frameworks. Advanced environmental engineering and mechanical optimizations form the core pillars of the Korat campus blueprint. Operating 76,000 highly dense GPUs generates massive thermal signatures that standard data center air configurations cannot adequately handle. To achieve high operational stability, the technical framework splits server distribution across six massive, specialized data halls utilizing advanced hybrid direct-to-chip liquid cooling systems. This architecture minimizes heavy continuous water waste, protecting precious local agricultural water systems while achieving a highly optimized power usage effectiveness. Economically, the multi-million-dollar development acts as a vital technological catalyst for Nakhon Ratchasima Province, providing thousands of infrastructure and engineering roles during construction and cultivating hundreds of specialized, long-term operational technology careers.
